As a monk all you do is follow the group around and watch their health bars. Even if you dont need the crafting materials you get from salvaging, a later character might, or you can simply sell them to the material trader when prices get high.ĭon't play a monk first. If it says highly salvagable or purple/gold, use an expert salvage kit. Salvage everything post-sear unless you're going to equip it soon. You'll need lots of crafting material once you sear. You have very little storage space and the money you get from selling stuff isn't worth hauling it around til you get back to town.

Salvage everything pre-sear unless you're going to equip it immediately. Any skill available in the first 25% of the game is available later on in the game to simply purchase. No matter how much you may disklike PvP, leave one of your four slots open for it, 'just in case'.ĭon't worry about not completing quests or getting skills.

The only permanent choices in the game is your name, primary class, and appearance. try a different game.ĭon't worry about 'messing up'. If you prefer sneaking and ambushing your opponent while he's engaged an npc or if you enjoy gathering 50 odd people and crushing small disorganized groups of enemy players. If you like an action game with easy to join instant pvp against willing participants on even footing (equivalent level and equipment) than you'll probably enjoy this game. Otherwise you'll be about 99% effective (in pvp I mean of course because that's the only place where being effective matters) by just playing through the game. There are some things you can "grind" for, but it's mostly aesthetic. I'm sorry this game is probably not for you. This is not a game where you will spend hours upon hours leveling up, gaining money for that next cool item, and spending hours to complete final missions for exclusive gear. It's more like a single player/coop game where PvE is concerned. Sure, there is PvE content, but probably only ~100 hours (if you take your time and don't use spoiler information). I think there's one important thing to consider.
